Description |
Shelf clock in wood case, dark stain. Case is carved with scallops and 4 flowers. At top appears to be an oak leaf covering an acorn. Tiny dots and squares carved into base. Glass door has gold painted leaves, scrolls and other design. Roman numerals on round dial. Pendulum bob decorated w/ 2 leaves on top. Spring power, wound with brass key. Owned by William F. Kerksieck who lived at 700 S. 17th, Quincy, in 1948. (b. 1858-He was a stable boy for John Wood.) See article from Quincy Herald-Whig 11 April 1948 on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
