Maroon or wine colored crushed velvet couch ; Mfg. by Peter Emrick (furniture & paper hanging) on Maine St. south of 4th or 5th Street. Peter Emrick was an uncle to Mary L. Grimm Baumhauer, who was the mother of Mrs. Busch & Mrs. Theilman. Couch was on display during Lincoln-Douglas Centennial Celebration in 1958 in the island window of the Bloch & Kuhl Store (now Carson, Pirie Scott). Came from the old Wm. F. Baumhauer home, father of sisters. |
